Which terminal do international flights arrive at?

All international departures and arrivals at Tân Sơn Nhất International Airport (SGN) use Terminal T2, regardless of airline. The new Terminal T3, opened in April 2025, is domestic only, so passengers on direct flights from Korea have nothing to do with T3. However, some transport such as bus 109 below departs only from T3, so knowing the terminal layout helps avoid confusion.

• T1: some domestic flights (Bamboo Airways, etc.)
• T2: international only — flights from Korea arrive here
• T3: domestic only (Vietnam Airlines and Vietjet domestic flights), in operation since April 19, 2025

The three terminals are separate, and a free electric shuttle bus (TIA route, operated by VinBus) runs between them. It loops T2 → T1 (pillar B20) → T3 (pillar 19A), operating from 04:30 to 00:35 the next day at 15–20 minute intervals.

Can I catch airport bus 109 in front of the international terminal?

The route changed on April 28, 2025: bus 109 now serves only Terminal T3 and no longer passes T1 or T2. If you arrive at the international terminal (T2) and want bus 109, you first take the free shuttle above to T3. With a lot of luggage or a group of two or more, Grab or a taxi may be more convenient once you factor in this transfer time.

• Route: Sài Gòn Bus Station (Bến xe buýt Sài Gòn, next to 23/9 Park) ↔ T3
• Stops toward downtown: Phạm Ngũ Lão → Trần Hưng Đạo → Hàm Nghi → Pasteur → Võ Thị Sáu → Nam Kỳ Khởi Nghĩa → Nguyễn Văn Trỗi, etc.
• Hours: from T3 05:30–22:40, from downtown 05:45–22:30, every 15–25 minutes
• Fare: VND 8,000–15,000 per ride (by distance) — as of the verified date and subject to change

Ho Chi Minh City is running a free city-bus policy from July 1 to December 31, 2026, but whether it applies to airport routes is hard to say for certain, because the resolution's provisions are worded inconsistently. It is safest to check on site or with the driver.

Bus 152 (Trung Sơn residential area–Bến Thành–airport) is a subsidized route boarded at Lane B on the T1 side and does not serve T3. We could not confirm the latest official timetable and fare, so this article only introduces the route.

Where do I catch Grab, Xanh SM, or a taxi?

When you exit the arrivals level of international Terminal T2, pickup points are divided by lane (làn). App-booked cars and walk-up taxis queue in different places, so check the lane letter and pillar number on the signs.

• Grab (GrabCar): international terminal, Lane B, pillars 10–12. The airport access fee is paid by the passenger on top of the fare, and the amount is shown on the app screen.
• Xanh SM (electric taxi): exit through doors A1 or A2 to Lane A, pillars A01–A04. Staff are on site, and if you book via the app you are directed to the "làn taxi công nghệ" (ride-hailing lane).
• Regular taxis: the airport operator (ACV) licenses 8 taxi companies to pick up passengers, including Vinasun, Mai Linh, and G7. Using a licensed company's taxi lowers the chance of a fare dispute.

The airport to Bến Thành Market is about 7–8 km, and travel time varies widely with traffic. Allow extra time during rush hour (weekday mornings and evenings).

What can I do near Bến Thành on my first day after landing?
